Starting next week, the library is organizing fun activities to celebrate the poetry month!
Save the date activities
Poem in your pocket day (April 1st) - Join us to celebrate poetry month by selecting a poem, carrying it with you, and sharing it with others throughout the day at school.
TEDx Poetry (Friday, April 9th) - During lunch, come and join us in the library to watch fun and inspiring poetry TED talks (Popcorn for the first 15 guests).
Movie section "The spider and the fly" (Friday, April 9th) - During lunch, come and join us in the library to watch this beautiful short movie.
Poetry Contest (Due on April 24th) – Write a poem and submit it to participate in our Contest. Categories are: Preschool/Elementary, MS/HS and Staff/Parents.
During the Month
Poem-a-Day - Every day a new poem will be on display on the TV lobby and posted on the library Social Medias.
Family Poetry Portrait- Invite your parents to stop by the library in the morning or right after class to read a poem and get your picture taken to be part of our Group portrait to be displayed at the lobby and in the library social medias
Memorize a poem – In order to share your favorite poems with our school community, make a video of yourself reciting the poem and send it to us. Videos will be posted in our library website.
Poetas brasileiros- Durante as aulas de português na biblioteca, poesia de autores brasileiros será recitada para incentivar a leitura em português e promover esses autores e seu trabalho.
Fortune Teller Poetry - Play the game in the library to find out an author, a poem title or even how many poems you should read today.
Roll the Rhyme- A game to play with friends, where you roll the dice and create your own rhymes. Wins the person who can rhyme the most.
Poet in a Jar - Guess the poet who wrote the poem in the jar. Correct answers will be entered into a prize drawing.
Poetry Display at the Main Lobby - During the first week of April, the library will have a poetry display at the main lobby with poetry books and information about the Poetry month.
Poetry on the go!: A selection of poems for you to take on the go will be available at the main lobby.
Take one, leave one: Students are invited to bring a poem to exchange. To take one from the box you should leave a new one there.
